i found the issue. for whatever reason, trying to download drain mansion on windows in the itch.io app flat out doesn't work. you have to go to the itch.io website, download it there, extract, and then it has the executable in it.
Hey there! I really enjoyed the game, but I just wanted to ask about if the performance issues will be or have been fixed for the public builds. I'm running the game on Android on a Samsung Note 9, and within 20 minutes, my FPS drops to 20, my battery is drained, and my phone is unbearably hot. Thanks again for the experience though! That's strange, I have tried this game on weaker phones than yours and it was fine. Yeah in 1.1.2 I made some android specific optimizations and in 1.1.3 I made a low-performance mode, that turns off 2D lights, particle effects, and post-processing on the camera.
What phone you have? Mine is high end and it has no problems with it. Also, Patreon version has a low-performance mode which helps with that but ofc it turns off effects.

First, make sure you are using the latest (V1.1) version. Then the third tablet will be behind the third door from the left where the red succubus is imprisoned. Each door there has 1 tablet.

How do you get through the god damn door at the end of the hallway (very first thing you have to do) when the red bitch is coming at you like a goddamn freight train, I'm playing on android and the joystick controls are very slow in response which I know has already been pointed already. The red lady is so fast and I know the doors at the very end of the hallway but when I try to go through it she's already caught up to me. I really want to enjoy this game but it's not easy when the very first enemy is impossible to get away from

I don't want to promise anything, but I'll try to look into it. I first have to test how much would turning off lighting effects would help, because that's pretty much all I can do. Sadly your phone is very weak on the performance side.
Yes, the saves are backward compatible. Just copy the gamesave.save file from the old build's DrainMansion_Data to the new build's DrainMansion_Data folder.
If that happens you have to first uninstall the game, then reinstall it. But beware, this WILL delete your save file. I'd recommend you to back it up first. It's in Android/data/com.Kredyn.DrainMansion/files on the internal storage of your phone. Then after you installed it, put the save file back. It is backward compatible.
When you have installed both you only need to click on the game in the download list (or in the folder in which you have saved it) and then on the folder with the name of the game you should look for the type "application" and this simply just start
On Mac I practically bash my fingers pressing both enter and space but I still get only about 70% on the escape bar. Is it a bug or am I just slow with key mashing?
On the android version there is no tutorial on how to escape the girls fast enough, like i tap like there is no tomorrow but still cant get her past 90% or so. Fix please? Also, can you fix the button for escaping? Thank you

Dude I stumbled by this game on complete accident and absolutely love it. The simplicity is typical of the genre, but it's got just enough artistic charm and the writing is fucking superb. Not that you asked, but I'd love to chat/listen/brainstorm if you ever want someone to bounce ideas off of. I haven't touched C++ in a while and I know Unity is C# but I definitely know enough to be useful for technical brainstorming too.
One thing I thought of while playing was implementing some kind of counter to say "don't show this text again if there is other un-shown text." You could still cycle through it randomly for a greater variety of encounters, or let certain text repeat a couple times per cycle if it makes sense to do so. I found myself wondering if I had seen all the text, and as long as you have new text coming in the encounter still feels like it hasn't ended.

Actually, I could use some technical help on and off, I had a bug that was pretty game breaking and I only managed to fix it after 2 versions and even then I discovered the solution by accident. While I'm not new to C#, I definitely am to Unity so this project is a learning curve for me. Right now sadly I don't have any other place to chat than here, Patreon or maybe twitter. But lately I was thinking about opening a Discord server for the game and for ppl that are interested.

Couple bugs. On the android version the lag spikes during the first time we meet the last succubus make escaping her nearly impossible. And apparently there is a way to lose your ability to double jump during makeing it completely impossible.

Not really, the android version was the only version I played. I was raging a bit as I couldn't pass her, and may have accidentally pressed the invintory button right before either I got trapped or got caught. Afer a few trys I just noticed I couldn't double jump, looked in my invintory and viola the boots were gone. No idea if my items got cleared out because that was the only thing i had.
in the 1.0.2win, am i able to get the third statue or where is it. because i have found the first and second one but am not able to find the third i think ive checked everywhere :)

what do i need to download to play this on android?
I don't quite understand the question. You download the .apk file, transfer it to your phone and install it there.
The file is a zip file not a APK so andriod does not recognize it
Well you need to unzip it. If you don't know how to Google it.
The game is interesting but a dedicated button to open doors on android is needed, the up function is difficult to use.
whenever i try installing it just tries to install and then completely gives up.

i checked my folders, it appears it just downloads the drain mansion folder, then one labeled ".itch" and nothing else is downloaded.

u should go back to the corridor of the first girl, there should be a red door near the middle left
ps. u might want to save ur progress back in the beginning save point, trust me, u need it

You have to avoid the switches. You can just jump into the ropes as long as you have not activated the switches.

Practice how open the door (just how fast you opened, just one little up with the joystick)
Also, I've made android controls better in 1.1.2 (separate use button, not joy up). That will help when it becomes public, I'm sure.
I love this game so much but I'm on android and dear god it's so laggy and the controls are so floaty. Any chance you'll fix this?
I might introduce a low performance mode along the way. Until then what phone are you using and what framerate are you getting?
I'm using a Galaxy J36V and the frame rate is 10 to 11. It may be because I'm on an older phone.
